Adam Spreadbury-Maher, who has presented a chamber version of
La Boheme at the Cock Tavern, where he is artistic director, became artistic director of the Kings Head in Islington earlier this year. He has announced that the Kings Head will be become a Little Opera House, producing small scale fringe productions of opera,
opera up close. Plans for the new season include versions of
Madam Butterfly and
The Barber of Seville plus opera by Philip Glass. Playwright, Mark Ravenhill is associate artistic director; Ravenhill's first venture into opera was heard his summer at
Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival
