Messiah on Wednesday

Caricature of Handel by Joseph Goupy (1754)
The Purcell Singers, conductor Mark Ford, are performing Messiah on Wednesday at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London's South Bank, accompanied by the Baroque Collective, led by Alison Bury. The line up of soloists is very tempting indeed, Julia Doyle, Robin Blaze, Andrew Staples and Peter Harvey. During Handel's lifetime he never had He was despised sung by a man, always a woman, but with a singer like Blaze in the line-up the results should be terrific.

More details from South Bank Centre website.
