Royal Philharmonic Orchestra season at the Cadogan Hall

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's new season at the Cadogan Hall starts in 18 September with a program of Dvorak and Schumann conducted by Paul Daniel, with Natasha Permski playing the Schumann Piano Concerto. There are opportunities to hear soloists such as Tamsin Little and Jamie Walton, and the music of Tchaikovsky runs as a theme through a number of concerts.

Robert Davidovici is the soloist in Beethoven's Violin Concerto in a Beethoven, Brahms and Berlioz concert on 8 October. The orchestra's brass section takes centre stage in an all brass concert where they are joined by trumpet player Allen Vizzutti.

Other major names playing with the orchestra include Tasmin Little who is performing Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in a programme conducted by Bramwell Tovey which also includes music by Bizet and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2 (19/10).

Tchaikovsky is something of a theme for the following three concerts. Alan Buribayev conducts Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 and Mario Galeani plays Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 (7/11). Barry Wordsworth is at the helm for an all-Tchaikovsky programme which includes excerpts from Swan Lake as well as Yoon-Hee Kim as soloist in the Violin Concerto. Finally Christoph Koenig conducts Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 and Jamie Walton is the soloist in Elgar's Cello Concerto on 28 November.

The Autumn season ends with the orchestra's Christmas Cracker on 21 December. Further information from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's page on the Cadogan Hall website.
