From Minimalism to Just William - Kings Place in January

Just William
January sees the first week of the Minimalism Unwrapped series at Kings Place with performances from The Sixteen, Joanne MacGregor, Oliver Coates & Danny Driver, and the London Sinfonietta. The series continues temptingly with the Choir of King's College Cambridge, Fretwork and the Aurora Orchestra.

But there is more on than just minimalism; concerts in January also include pianist Martino Tirimo in the second of his Schubert recitals, and six prize-winning students from Trinity Laban in their Gold Medal Concert. Cellist Jamie Walton and pianist Clare Hammond combine Alan Mills and Peter Fribbins with Beethoven, Britten, Debussy and Faure. Pianist Anna Tilbrook performs the chamber version of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 12 with the Fitzwilliam Quartet.

The month concludes with the London A Cappella Festival which features such names as The Kings Singers, Straight No Chaser, Club for Five and Anuna, plus many more and lots of workshops.

Author David Lodge will be launching his memoir of his early life Quite a Good Time to Be Born, a Memoir: 1935 - 1975. Actor Martin Jarvis joins pianist Richard Sisson (formerly of Kit and the Widow) to perform one of Richmal Crompton's Just William stories.
