Anthony Payne's Piano Quartet will receive its London premiere on Sunday (15 February 2015) at a concert at Kings Place presented by the London Chamber Music Society as part of their series at Kings Place. The quartet will be performed by the Primrose Piano Quartet (Susanne Stanzeleit violin, Dorothea Vogel viola, Andrew Fuller cello, John Thwaites piano), and they will also perform Schumann's Piano Quartet in E Flat and Brahms's Piano Quartet in A.

In an interview (available in a PDF newsletter from the London Chamber Music Society website), Payne talks about the piano quartet, "It consists of a single movement in which shapes emerge and grow and sometimes give birth to new ideas, never recapitulating in the traditional way. By the time we get to the final pages I like to think that we’ve made it to another world, which is perhaps way in the future, or even in the past.".
