Live from Reykjavik tonight!

Harpa
Harpa
Having been in Iceland recently (see my article) and attended a couple of concerts in Harpa, the concert hall in Reykjavik, I can testify to how striking the new hall is. There is a chance to appreciate this tonight, without travelling to Iceland, as you can watch this evening's concert (8 September 2016) live on YouTube.

The concert is the opening of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra's 2016-17 season, and their first with their new chief conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier. Tonight's concert (which starts at 7.30pm Icelandic time which is one hour earlier than London) consists of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3 with pianist Nikolai Lugansky, and Ravel's Daphnis and Chloe.

You can see the concert on the orchestra's website, or on their YouTube channel.
