Introducing Aurora Play: new on-line content from the Aurora Orchestra

The Aurora Orchestra is releasing new on-line content with its digital series Aurora Play. From Sunday 10 May 2020, the orchestra will be featuring the best of its recorded content on YouTube along with new interactive content. The series starts with the orchestra's landmark Orchestral Theatre staging of Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique from the 2019 BBC Proms, and other highlights include memorised performances of Beethoven’s 'Pastoral' and 'Eroica' symphonies (from the 2015 and 2017 BBC Proms) and works by John Adams, Anna Meredith, Brett Dean and Nico Muhly, with further content to be announced.

The series will also include new introductions from Nicholas Collon (the orchestra's principal conductor) and other special guests, and its workshop leader-in-residence Jessie Maryon Davies has created a series of interactive films which take a sideways look at the music being performed each week, (see her introductory video to Berlioz' Symphonie fantastique on YouTube) and encourage the audience to create and share their own responses online.

Aurora Play will be available on the Aurora Orchestra's YouTube channel, see the introductory video.
