Domus - part 2

I did some more searching, and the title of Luc arbogast's disc Fjall d'Yr Vinur produced some results, there is a review here on the www.musique-chroniques.ch site.

According to Luc Arbogast's posting on this page, the instrument that he most commonly plays is a bouzouki, but an Irish rather than Greek model (if I read his French correctly). And evidently they have another disc in the offing - more power to their elbow.

I must say it was one of the most mesmerizing musical experiences ever. It was a frigid cold late afternoon this March as we walked up to the Cathedral in Strassbourg and then we heard this voice straight from the past and as we walked up, what a surprise. Glad to find another fan.

He is 30 years old, studied music, father French, mother German. In the summers he plays at various historical locations, in the winter he is in Strasbourg.

    Good bye

Like your first commentator, I came across Luc singing by chance (early in April 06), and was transfixed. My partner and I returned several times over the weekend and bought the CD on offer. Worth every cent! I work from home and it is splendid to start the day's work listening to it.

We were also much impressed by the effect on passers by ... the first reaction - especially from young men - was one of surprise and incredulity, followed after a few seconds by jaw-dropping admiration and enjoyment. One group of (I suppose) students who had obviously enjoyed a well lubricated lunch (!) arrived quite noisily and irreverently ... but quickly fell silent and stayed to listen for about an hour in the freezing cold. In the end they applauded and made generous contributions.

    Fantastic.

I had the chance to enjoy Luc's voice and music on my holiday, september 1994 in France. It was in the center of town called Uzés I must say it was wonderful and so I told him in person. He's a very nice guy. I bought the cd and it still is one of the masterpieces in my collection. I hope one day I get the chance to enjoy one of his performances here in Belgium !!!
