On Monday 7 October the Salomon Orchestra celebrates its 50th anniversary with a concert conducted by the orchestra's founding conductor Nicholas Braithwaite. The orchestra will be performing Richard Strauss's Vienna Philharmonic Fanfare and Tll Eulenspiegel and will be joined by soprano Emma Dogliani for some of Strauss's songs: Zueignung, Ruhe meine Seele, Morgen and Die heiligen drei Koenige aus Morgenland. In the second half they perform Shostakovich's Symphony no. 7 'Leningrad' which the composer completed during the siege of Leningrad.
