Northern Ireland Opera is returning to Belfast's Grand Opera House for the first time since the theatre was restored when Cameron Menzies, Northern Ireland Opera's artistic director, directs his fourth production for the company, Verdi's La Traviata in September 2022. Following on from the company's highly successful production of Puccini's La Boheme last year, conducted by Rebecca Lang, Lang returns to conduct La Traviata with the Ulster Orchestra in the pit. The cast includes Siobhan Stagg who will be making her role debut as Violetta, and the choreography will be by Isabel Baquero. Full details of cast and creatives will be announced shortly.

Belfast's Grand Opera House opened in 1895, designed by Frank Matcham. During 2020/21 the theatre's auditorium underwent a major restoration whilst the foyers and public spaces were re-imagined and the theatre's technical infrastructure upgraded.

The production debuts on 10 September 2022 with performances until 17 September. Full details from the Grand Opera House's website.
