Celebrating young choral talent - Sounds Sublime

Genesis Sixteen
Genesis Sixteen
The Sixteen's Sounds Sublime festival returns to the church of St Martin in the Fields, London and to the National Gallery on Saturday 18 July 2015, when both venues will be full of music making by the current crop of young choral talent. The centrepiece of the festival is a lunch-time concert at which Harry Christophers and Eamonn Dougan conduct Genesis Sixteen, the choir based on the Sixteen's young artists programme, in music by Poulenc, Pacelli, Britten, Finzi and Josquin. This will be followed by a 'come and sing' workshop with Eamonn Dougan and Eo Nomine, a vocal group made up of former Genesis Sixteen singers. Then at 5pm Eo Nomine will be giving a concert of 16th century English and Italian madrigals from Monteverdi, Schutz, Gesualdo and Tomkins.

Over at the National Gallery, there will be Vocal Health Workshops, Family Singing Workshops with the a cappella vocal group Apollo5 and pop-up performances. So there will be a chance to catch young performers like Siglo de Oro, Renaissance, Artschoir, Gesualdo Six, and the Erebus Ensemble.
