London Oriana Choir is starting the second year of its ambitious five-year project, five15, which will see the choir commissioning 15 new choral works from five women composers. For the second year of the project, composer Rebecca Dale has been announced as composer in residence, and her term kicks off on Wednesday 5 July 2017, when London Oriana Choir, conductor Dominic Peckham, is performing at the Cutty Sark, Greenwich, also celebrating the choir's continuing residency with the Royal Museums Greenwich.

The programme on 5 July features a new Rebecca Dale piece alongside the premiere of a new anthem by Ailsa Dixon, and music by Dobrinka Tabakova, Roxanna Panufnik, Hannah Lash and Elizabeth Alexander. Further ahead, Dale's second composition will have a Remembrance theme for choir, orchestra and solo cello, while the third will be another unaccompanied piece scheduled for next spring.

The London Oriana Choir launched its five15 project in April 2016, and Cheryl Frances Hoad was the first composer in residence, with the choir performing three new pieces by her alongside more general programming of works by female composer, as well as educational outreach to 16-18 year old budding female composers
