The Shard will be inaugurated as London's tallest building on Thursday 5 July. As part of the celebrations, at 10.15 pm there will be a spectacular laser and light show involving 12 lasers and 30 search-lights. At the same time the London Philharmonic Orchestra (who are resident at the nearby South Bank), will be performing Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man and the Finale from Stravinsky's Firebird. The laser display and orchestra performance will be streamed live on the the Shard's website and Facebook page. Sounds like quite a show.
