Rosenblatt Recitals, the recital series devoted to established and emerging singers from the operatic stage, has signed a deal with Sky Arts to televise the first four recitals in the 2012-13 season. This season, for the first time, the recital series takes place at the Wigmore Hall rather than St Johns Smith Square. With the location move and now the televisation, it looks as if Rosenblatt Recitals is significantly raising its profile.
There were times, when attending the recitals at St Johns Smith Square, that you felt that the series was loved by its devotees but not sufficiently known by outsiders. Quite a number of singers made their London recital debut at a Rosenblatt Recital and they continue to have an extremely interesting eye for young talent. This year's recitals start with Lawrence Brownlee and continue with Joel Prieto, Dmitra Theodossiou and Fabio Armiliato. All of whose recitals will now be on Sky Arts.
Further details from the Rosenblatt Recitals website.
