Camerata Musica - new season in Cambridge

Peterhouse College
Next week Camerata Musica's new season launches in Cambridge with a recital by John Mark Ainsley in the Peterhouse Theatre. Camerata Musica was founded in 2006 at Peterhouse College (the oldest in Cambridge) to bring new audiences to classical music, giving the graduates and post-graduates access to some fine music making. Half the seats at all the concerts are reserved for students, and concerts are regularly oversubscribed. Full price concert tickets are available from £20, with discounts for a season ticket. John Mark Ainsley's recital with Roger Vignoles is on 7 November

They will be performing Schumann's Liederkreis, Opus 39 and his Dichterliebe, Opus 48, very tempting combination of both performers and works. (I have very fond memories of Dichterliebe having first heard it as a student at a similar type of celebrity recital in Manchester in the late 1970's with Benjamin Luxon).

The remainder of the season sees concerts from Daniel Trifonov (winner of the 2011 Tchaikovsky International Competition, Moscow), the Hagen Quartet, the Takacs Quartet and Andras Schiff. Further details from the Camerata Musica website.
