The new year brings a number of changes to the Handel House Museum. Now billed as Handel and Hendrix in London, the museum encompasses both Handel's house and Jimi Hendrix's flat next door. Performance space has expanded too with the addition of a studio space to the existing room in Handel's house.

The Spring programme brings an opportunity to hear the latest members of the Handel House Talent scheme. All five will be giving recitals over the period as well as participating in masterclasses. John Crockatt (violin) performs The World of JS Bach (3 March 2016), Satok Doi-Luck (harpsichord) performs Froberger: his art and influence (18 February 2016), Mirjam Munzel (recorders) performs Fantasy (11 February 2016), Aidan Phillips (harpsichord) performs Mythical Visions (4 February 2016), Olwen Foulkes (recorders) performs Directed by Handel (10 March 2016) and Eleanor Minney (mezzo-soprano) performs Baroque Odyssey (25 February 2016).

Additionally, Hunter Coblentz, the current Composer-in-Residence Apprentice will be curating some new Friday Late events on 4 March and 1 April, which encourage the visitors to explore the building and the event on 4 March has a trail which ends up in the local pub!

The exhibition Handel: A Life with Friends comes to an end on 10 January and from 13 January there will be a new exhibition A Year in the Life of Handel: 1723 looking at the year in which Handel took up residence at Brook Street. On 10 February the Hendrix Flat (which is next door to Handel's house and part of the museum) officially opens to the public. This year's Stanley Sadie lecture is Handel and London's Playhouse Stars, given by Dr Berta Joncus (7 March)

There are also the full range of delectable concerts, including tenor Guy Withers and harpsichordist Robert Court exploring Handel's music from 1724 including the arias written for star tenor Francesco Borosini (the first Bajazet in Tamerlano) 7 January,  whilst Benji Kirkpatrick will be performing Hendrix songs acoustically using bouzouki, mandolin and banjo (14 February), Gwen Foulkes (recorder) and Nathaniel Mander (harpsichord) perform music from London's theatre musicians in Handel's time (10 March) and Arcata Baroque explore the life of Thomas Arne focussing in his relationships with singers Cecilia young and Charlotte Brent (31 March 2016).
