This weekend (21 & 23 March) there's a chance to catch Brunnhilde leaping on her horse and riding into the Golden West. Fresh from her triumphs in Fulham Opera's Ring Cycle, dramatic soprano Zoe South will be taking the role of Minnie, the title role in La Fanciulla del West (The Girl of the Golden West), Puccini's wonderful Wild-West inspired opera. The semi-staged concert performances are being given by Midsummer Opera, conductor David Roblou, at St. John's Waterloo (7pm on 21/3 and 4pm on 23/3). Joining South in the Wild West of Waterloo will be John Upperton as the bandit hero Dick Johnson, Trevor Alexander and Ian Massa-Harris. Further information from the Midsummer Opera website.
