The annual Samling showcase, Seasons in the mind, takes place at the Wigmore Hall on 9 November 2017, performed by a group of artists who have all participated in the Samling Artists Programme. Sopranos Lauren Fagan and Rowan Pierce, mezzo-soprano Bianca Andrew, tenor Nicky Spence, bass-baritone Milan Siljanov and pianists James Baillieu and Ian Tindale will be performing Schubert, Wolf, Brahms, Strauss, Britten, Novello and more, in a programme which explores the four seasons seen and heard through the eyes and ears of composers and poets spanning the last two centuries. Also joining the concert will be actor Alex Hassell who will be reading works by John Keats, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, Seamus Heaney, Wallace Stevens and Billy Collins.
The Samling Artist Programme is an intensive residential masterclass programme led by world-class artists, teachers and experts, which attracts young singers and pianists from around the world, and there are now over 300 Samling Artists.
