The Ealing Film and Music Festival opens on Wednesday 7 February 2018 with a recital from pianist Emilie Capulet in Debussy, and the festival runs until 11 February. Other events include the Tippett Quartet with violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen and pianist Julian Gallant in Chausson's Concerto for piano, violin and string quartet, and their concert is preceded by an open rehearsal.
One of the focuses of the festival is local talent, and the Ealing Youth Orchestra, conductor Leon Gee will be joined by members of the London Mozart Players and cellist Akito Goto for Dvorak's Cello Concerto and Richard Strauss's mammoth Alpine Symphony. The Ealing Symphony Orchestra, conductor John Gibbons, is joined by soprano Gweneth Ann Rand and bass-baritone Keel Watson for Gershwin's Porgy and Bess Suite, plus Delius' Appalachia. Other concerts include Ealing's community choir, Love2Sing, and musicians from the London College of Music Junior College.
There are plenty of other events, in a diverse musical and film programme. Further details from the festival website.
