The Orchestra of the Swan (OOTS), the Stratford-upon-Avon chamber orchestra, is planning another of its projects for children with learning and physical difficulties. Anthony and Cleopatra - The Musical! is '60 minutes of madcap musical mayhem' written for the pupils at Brays and Welcombe Special Schools. There will be a year of workshops and rehearsals next year, leading to a performance in 2015.
Their previous project Troy Story - An Intergalactic Opera was a great success taking pupils Welcombe Hills School, Thomas Jolyffe and Wilmcote Primary School on an intergalactic adventure to the year 3000 with stop off’s for musical workshops, educational talks and wonderful rehearsals.
All this takes money, and the Orchestra of the Swan is in line for The People's Millions, they will be appearing on Central TV on 26 November to talk about their project. Please do vote for them, voting is from 9am to midnight on 26 November: further information from the People's Millions website.
You can see more of their work on YouTube, or if you'd like to donate go direct to the OOTS website.
