The Libertadores String Quartet from Venezuela, one of El Sistema's most promising and exciting ensembles, will visit three El Sistema inspired programmes in the UK this weekend. The quartet will be visiting In Harmony Liverpool, In Harmony Telford and Stoke on Trent, and Sistema in Norwich.
The Libertadores String Quartet, Ollantay Velasquez, Eddi Cordero, Otto Rodrigues and Jose David Marquez, is made up of members of the well known Simon Bolivar Orchestra. Whilst in the UK they will be meeting tutors and leaders as well as doing tutoring work with children from the various schemes as part of an exchange organised by Sistema England. On Saturday 9 November they visit In Harmony Liverpool, in Monday 11 November, In Harmony Telford and then on Tuesday they are in Norwich visiting Sistema Norwich, where they will be giving a concert performing Mozart, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. On Thursday 14 November they quartet will be giving a public performance at the Bolivar Hall, 54 Grafton Way, London.
