Austrian mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager divides her time between the recital room and the opera house. Appearances in London have included Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Sophie in Sophie's Choice and Melisande at the Royal Opera House, as well as a recent concert of music by members of the Bach family with the Academy of Ancient Music at the Barbican. On 15 October 2014 there is a chance to hear her in far more personal surroundings as she gives a recital of songs by Brahms, Schubert, Schumann and Liszt for Temple Music at Middle Temple Hall. Whilst the Hall might appear a grand, imposing space it is proving to be a very fine acoustic for song recitals as Temple Music's Temple Song series has shown.

Kirchschlager will be accompanied by Julius Drake with whom she has recorded a disc of Liszt songs as part of Hyperion Records series of the complete songs of Franz Liszt.
