This weekend, the Oxford Lieder Festival comes to Kings Place and there is a chance to catch some of the highlights of the wonderful festival in Oxford where this year they are performing all of Schubert's songs. At Kings Place there is Sarah Connolly and Roderick Williams in Schubert's settings from Scott's Lady of the Lake (2/10), Christopher Maltman and Graham Johnson in settings of Goethe and Schiller plus Christoph Richter in the Arpeggione Sonata (3/10), James Gilchrist and Sholto Kynoch in a late-night Die Winterreise (3/10). On Saturday 4/10 you could spend the day with Schubert with a masterclass from Sarah Walker, performances from the festival's Young Artist Platform, Stephan Loges in Beethoven and Schubert, members of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in Schubert's Octet, plus songs from Mary Bevan, Rozanna Madylus, Robert Murray and Roderick Williams, with Sholto Kynoch.

Other delights on offer at Kings Place this month include Penelope Thwaites celebrating her 40th anniversary, Jack Liebeck and Katya Apekisheva in Bach, lutenist Nigel North exploring the 'decoration of silence' (part of the London Guitar Festival), the Allegri Quartet celebrating its 60th birthday and the London Lit Weekend. And at the end of the month there is LIFEM, the London International Festival of Exploratory Music.
