Conductor Mark Austin and his Faust Chamber Orchestra make their debut at Kings Place on Sunday 25 September 2017 with a witty take on a classic programme. Mezzo-soprano Katie Bray joins the orchestra for Cherubino's two arias from Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, and under the title of Classicism according to Cherubino the orchestra will be presenting Schubert's youthful Symphony No. 3, Mozart's Oboe Concerto and Prokofiev's Classical Symphony in the guise of works from Cherubino's pen, as reflections of the character's joy, energy and mischief. The soloist in the Mozart will be Olivier Stankiewicz, who is principal oboe with the London Symphony Orchestra and YCAT artist.

Mark Austin and the Faust Chamber Orchestra gave a performance of Louis Spohr's rarely performed oratorio Die letzten Dinge (The Last Judgement) (see Ruth's review on this blog).

Full details of the Faust Chamber Orchestra's forthcoming concert from the Kings Place website.
