If you are in the Blackburn area on Saturday 13 October, then there is a chance to catch John Ireland's These things shall be and Greater Love hath no man at Blackburn Cathedral, performed by The Appeal Choir of Blackburn Cathedral, the choir of Stonyhurst College and the Northern Sinfonia conducted by Samuel Hudson with Mark Rowlinson baritone. The programme also includes music by Vaughan Williams, Elgar and Walton and is in aid of the Blackburn Cathedral Appeal. More information and tickets from Blackburn Cathedral website.
