Donizetti Study Day

Following on from their Rossini study day (when I gave a lecture on Rossini's Neapolitan opera seria), Masterclass & Co. are presenting a Donizetti study day at the Cadogan Hall on 13 March. The lecturers will be writer and broadcaster Mel Cooper, opera coach/conductor Philip Headlam and soprano Nelly Miricioiu. 

The morning lectures will be The Life and Times of Donizetti (Mel Cooper) and The musical language of Donizetti's Operas (Philip Headlam). After lunch Nelly Miricioiu will talk about her Donizetti roles and then she will lead a masterclass for two emerging singers, Hanna-Liisa Kirchin and Bryony Williams, with the accompanist Phillip Mountford.

Their evening course on the history of opera also continues this week with a lecture recital on Beethoven Fidelio. Further information from the Masterclass & Co. website.
