The Hampstead Arts Festival returns on 5 November 2016, presenting two weeks of  classical music, jazz, talks and film in three of Hampstead’s most beautiful, historic venues, St John's Church, Downshire Hill, Burgh House and Hampstead Parish Church. 

Performers include a recital from pianist Stephen Hough, the Arditti Quartet in Thomas Ades, Harrison Birtwistle and Brian Ferneyhough, cellist Raphael Wallfisch and the English Chamber Orchestra in Tavener, Tchaikovsky, Mahler and more, Alfred Hitchcock's silent film The Lodger with live music from Gwilym Simcock, recitals by BBC Young Musician 2012 winner Laura van der Heijden and by violinist Anthony Marwood, and the festival concludes with James Sherlock conducting Hampstead Parish Church Choir and Ensemble Passio in Bach's Christmas Oratorio (parts 1, 2, 3 & 6).
