As part of European Opera Days (#operadays), an annual event celebrating the art form of opera all over Europe, Opera and Music Theatre Forum (OMTF) is again organising a virtual celebration of UK opera. For the weekend of 5-7 May 2017, people are being encouraged to use the hashtag #LoveOpera to spotlight the huge amount and variety of opera and music theatre work going on around the country and celebrate home and host venues and the relationships that they have with local audiences.
People are encouraged to tweet about specific performances or events and wherever possible should include photographs, trailers, videos, pictures, audio clips. Tweets can refer to any activity relating to performances taking place between May 5-7 and in the future, and relationships with venues and their audiences. Activities could for example include rehearsing, performing, planning, painting sets, travelling on tour, leading a workshop, events with local audiences, attending performances, watching a live stream. OMTF will be facilitating the weekend’s tweets including periods run by guest facilitators and we will be encouraging participants who are unable to tweet during this period to send material in advance so that it can be done on their behalf.
