Whilst UK audiences got their most recent glimpse of conductor Jane Glover directing a performance of Gilbert & Sullivan's Trial by Jury at the BBC Proms [see my review], since 2002 Glover has also been music director of Music of the Baroque, a Chicago (USA) based orchestra and choir which specialises in the music of the 18th century.

The group is launching its 48th season with a bang, giving a free out-door concert in Chicago's Millennium Park on 12 September 2018, performing music by Vivaldi, Handel and Mozart. in the Frank Gehry-designed Pritzker Music Pavilion in the park.

The ensemble's main season opens on 15 & 16 September 2018 with performances of Mozart's Requiem and three of Handel's Coronation Anthems, with soloists Amanda Majeski, Daniela Mack, Jonas Hacker and Eric Owens.
