The Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival will take place on-line this year, with a series of four weekly concerts to be premiered free on the festival's YouTube channel from Friday 11 September 2020. The concerts will be filmed later this month in the historic rooms of Hatfield House.

Guy Johnston and pianist Melvyn Tan perform Mendelssohn's Cello Sonata No. 2 in D Major, and the Navarra Quartet will join clarinettist Julian Bliss for Mozart's Clarinet Quintet. Soprano Katherine Broderick and pianist Kathryn Stott perform songs by Quilter, Schubert and Fauré, then countertenor Iestyn Davies and lutenist Elizabeth Kenny perform songs by John Dowland in the Long Gallery, while organist William Whitehead revives music from the House's archives on the remarkable 1609 Hahn organ in the Armoury. Each concert will also include interviews with artists, curators, historians, and the Salisbury family who have owned Hatfield House since 1607.

The festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2021, and celebratory work has been commissioned from Joseph Phibbs, to be premiered at the 2021 festival by artistic director Guy Johnston and pianist Melvyn Tan.
