Temple Music's Spring 2022 season is something of an end of an era, as it is the last to be programmed by the long standing director Carol Butler who has just retired. Her successor, Roland Deller, took over last month and he will be responsible for programming the Autumn 2022 season.
Spring 2022 features nine concerts in Temple Church and Middle Temple Hall, mixing chamber music, choral music and song. The season opens with a recital from pianist Imogen Cooper, followed by a recital from the Busch Trio. Song features strongly, bass-baritone Brindley Sherratt will be giving a rare recital with pianist Julius Drake, and Drake returns for two further recitals, partnering Dutch soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek, and two award-winning young singers, mezzo-soprano Ema Nikolovska and baritone Konstantine Krimmel.
Choral music features with concerts from the Temple Church Choir, including a performance of Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Collegium Musicum of London in Mozart's Requiem, and the Holst Singers, conductor Stephen Layton, in Palestrina's Missa Papae Marcelli.
