The final of the fourth annual St Martin's Chamber Music competition takes place on Tuesday 19 March at 7pm. The competition has had an unprecedented number of applications this year and the six semi-finalists have been competing in lunchtime recitals and the Palomino String Quartet (formed in 2011, the quartet comprises former members of Southbank Sinfonia from England, Ireland and New Zealand.), the Jubilee String Quartet (formed in 2006 at the Royal Academy of Music, London; quartet was named after the Jubilee Line on the London Underground, which all four members lived on when the quartet was formed.) and the A Piacere Piano Trio (established in 2010 at the Royal College of Music in London) are all through to the final. Further details from the competition website.
