ECHO is an active network of concert halls across Europe, and each year the organisation nominates a group of Rising Stars, The young artists are able to present a programme of their own choosing across a range of venues in the ECHO network. Tamsin Waley-Cohen was the only British nominee this season and as she was nominated by Birmingham Town Hall, it is apt that she begins her tour there. She will then be performing in some major venues across Europe, including Brussels (Bozar), Amsterdam (Het Concertgebouw), Luxembourg (Philharmonie), Baden-Baden (Festspielhaus), Vienna (Musikverein), Budapest (Mupa), Paris (Philharmonie), Hamburg (Elbphilharmonie), Lisbon (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation), Dortmund (Konzerthaus), Stockholm (Konserthus), Cologne (Philharmonie), L'Auditori Barcelona, Porto (Casa da Musica).
Each ECHO Rising Star has a new work commissioned for them as part of the series, and during the tours the artists also engage with and deliver a broad variety of Education, Learning and Participation work with diverse communities in cities and regions across the ECHO network.
