The Ealing Music and Film Festival returns on 8- 12 February 2017 for its fifth year, with a range of music and other activities, many from organisations based in Ealing.
Nigel Short conducts Tenebrae and the English Chamber Orchestra for a programme which includes Mozart's Clarinet Concerto (with Anna Hashimoto) and the Requiem. Then members of the English Chamber Orchestra join with the Ealing Youth Orchestra to perform Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 (with Martin James Bartlett) and Mahler's Symphony No. 1.
Ealing Symphony Orchestra, conductor John Gibbins, is giving an all English programme with music written for films by Walton, RVW, Ireland and Rawsthorne, and the festival closes with the Tippett Quartet in Haydn, Dvorak and Brahms.
Films include David Cronenberg's Spider, and there is also a film location tour.
