Classic FM will be 25 in September. To help celebrate the station, in collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Society, is commissioning six pieces from composers who are younger than the station. So composers born on or after 7 September 1992 are invited to apply, and works will be reviewed by a panel of judges including Classic FM's composer in residence, Debbie Wiseman. Applications are not open yet, and the station's website says to listen on air for further information.
The six winning composers will be paired with one of the station's birthday events, such as Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall, and the birthday celebration concert with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, where their work will be premiered and broadcast live on Classic FM.
Further information from the Classic FM website.
