The Foundling Museum houses a sequence of elaborate interiors originally from the 18th century Foundling Hospital. As well as being able to admire these with the fine contemporary collection of paintings as part of the tour of the museum, there is a concert series there (including regular Sunday afternoon concerts), with the emphasis on the music of Handel and the era of the Foundling Hospital.

On Sunday 19 February 2017 students from the Royal Northern College of Music perform arias and duets from Handel's Theodora, and on 23 February the Amade Players give a Handel birthday concert including Handel's Concerto Grosso Op.6 No. 5, then on Sunday 26 February there is a change of mood as three UK folk artists Sam Lee, Lisa Knapp and Nathaniel Mann perform 18th century Broadside Ballads, the cheaply printed popular songs from the 18th century.

Further ahead, Musicke in the Ayre perform on 5 March, Richard Allan presents a programme of music for solo harp on 9 March, with Duo Asteria on 19 March. And there is a Finalists Showcase for the 2017 Handel Singing Competition on 29 March.

Further information from the Foundling Museum website.
