'As though Tom Waits and Stephen Sondheim had come together with Roald Dahl' - Matthew Sharp's Tommy Foggo goes on-line
Labels:
on-line
Matthew Sharp is both a cellist and a baritone, and he brings both these talents together in his show Tommy Foggo - Superhero, designed for families and about a boy who finds a talking cello, with words by Martin Riley and music by Stephen Deazley.
During lockdown, Sharp has created his own theatre, The Garage Theatre and is broadcasting an episode of Tommy Foggo per day with two so far. [you can read more about Matthew in my 2015 interview with him where he talks about the development of Tommy Foggo]
Matthew describes the piece as 'A magical multi-media tale of a life saved by music for 7+ and their guardians, based on a true story.' whilst the Scottish Herald thought it was 'As though Tom Waits and Stephen Sondheim had come together with Roald Dahl'
Tommy Foggo - Superhero - Episode 1, Episode 2
See Matthew Sharp's YouTube channel for future episodes.
