I must confess that I am more than excited, my Passion - The Passion of Our Lord according to St John is part of The Liturgy of Good Friday at Chichester Cathedral on 15 April 2022, sung by members of the choir of Chichester Cathedral, organist and master of the choristers Charles Harrison.
"The young British composer Robert Hugill's setting of the Passion - a text he compiled from St John's Gospel, interspersed with poems by Carl Cook from The Tranquil Lake of Love - has turned out to be one of the most original realisation of this subject for some time... there is a timeless element in the modern setting which relates perfectly to the timeless quality of the passion story itself.
An often beautiful and fascinating work."
