A group of London-based artists with both Russian and Ukrainian roots are coming together on Sunday 10 April 2022 at the theatre at Rudolf Steiner House in Marylebone for Performers for Peace, a fundraising event for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
Performers will include the Ukrainian baritone Yuriy Yurchuk [we very much enjoyed his 2017 disc of Rimsky Korsakov's Romances, see my review], violinist Ben Gilmore, pianists Mikhail Shilyaev and Olga Jegunova, dancer and choreographer Kirill Burlov, and actors from the London-based Russian theatre company Xameleon, in a mixed repertoire of Russian and Ukrainian works. There will also be a performance from young musicians from the London Russian School of Music.
