Eclectic Collections at the Forge

The Metier Ensemble - Claire Overbury, Sophie Rivlin, Elspeth Wyllie
The Metier Ensemble is presenting a season of early evening concerts at The Forge, Camden. Starting on 8 September 2013, the three concert series entitled Eclectic Collections celebrates a diverse selection of duos and trios for flute, cello and piano. Each concert has a geographical theme, with the first one Watercolours being of French music, the second Trapeze (on 1 December) of British music and the final one Fairy Tale on 9 February 2014 of music from Eastern Europe.

The Metier Ensemble are Claire Overbury (flute), Sophie Rivlin (cello) and Elspeth Wyllie (piano). The concerts take place from 6pm to 7pm at the Forge, Camden. On 8 September the repertoire includes Poulenc’s flute sonata and Debussy’s cello sonata, complemented with two trios that have been highly-popular with previous audiences, Philippe Gaubert's impressionistic Aquarelles, and a light-hearted dance suite by Jean-Michel Damase.

The concert on 1 December includes music by Hamilton Harty and York Bowen plus a commission, Trapeze, by Joseph Atkins and the final concert will include music by Fikret Amirov, Janacek and Josef Suk. Further information from The Forge website
