Club Inégales opens its latest season on 19 May when the club will be celebrating Michael Finnissy's 70th birthday. Michael Finnissy will perform his own piano works as well as performing with Peter Wiegold and resident band Notes Inégales. The evening will be preceded by a discussion on the ‘Art of Remaking’ at which Michael Finnissy will discuss alongside composer and Professor of Composition at Oxford Brookes University Paul Whitty and Helen Julia Minors, Head of Music and Creative Music Technologies at Kingston University.

Further ahead Club Inégales presents a re-imagining of Purcell's King Arthur at Wilton's Music Hall as part of the Spitalfields Music Festival. Reinterpreted, recreated and rearranged, Club Inégales will mix new orchestrations and improvisation with performers including soprano Alya Marquardt and counter-tenor Iestyn Morris, all directed by Peter Wiegold.

For the final events of the season, Stepping Out with Academy Inégales, are the culmination of a 10 month project and will feature the premieres of work by associate artists whose backgrounds range from composition to classical, jazz, Arabic, Indian and free improvisation musics.
