Yehudi Menuhin would have been 100 this year, and not surprisingly the school which he founded, the Menuhin School, is having something of a celebration. From 1 to 10 July 2017 there are a wide range of events at the school. There is a gala fundraising concert with Nicola Benedetti & Alexei Grynuk with music by Elgar and Bartok, a series of concerts showcasing the talents of the current pupils of the school, an organ recital by James O'Donnell, concerts in the grotto at Painshill Park, Cobham, Bruno Monsaingeon's film of Yehudi Menuhin, and pupils of the school will be joined by Samuel West to present a Shakespeare and music programme.

During the festival, Geraldine van Heemstra's sketches and etchings of pupils of the school will be on display. These will also be exhibited at the A and D Gallery from 21 to 25 June 2016 when pupils from the school will give short performances.

In the run up to the main festival there are a number of other events taking place in the Menuhin Hall including violinist Joji Hattori performing Mozart, Elgar, Bach & Bartok with the Yehudi Menuhin School Orchestra (12 April), Alina Ibragimova and her Chiaroscuro Quartet performing Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven (15 May), guitarist John Williams with wind player Richard Harvey (14 June)/
